There are 3 cards that let you pass or avoid that top card! Use them wisely and you’ll hold fast in any foul weather.
Drunken Sailor
It would be kind to help a mate out, but in the Shanghai Game it's every one for themselves. This card lets you skip that draw, pick another player to take your turn and then steal a card from their hand! That will teach them to steer clear of the rum!

It's time to buy a round! Let the next player draw, and you stay in the game. Discard after Playing.TIP: Save your drink up cards for when the game gets dangerous - when the draw pile gets small!

The Old Shellback
Old Shellbacks were sailors who had survived in to old age... at least to their 30's! They were wise enough to avoid the reefs and shoals that caught the younger sailors. This card lets you draw the top two cards, take a peek and put one back on top! If one of the cards was a Shanghai - that's just for you to know!
